Build Real Budgeting Skills That Actually Work

Our program walks you through practical money management techniques you can start using right away. No jargon, no complicated spreadsheets—just clear guidance on getting your finances sorted.

Starting July 2026, we're running small group sessions across Canberra. You'll work through real scenarios, ask questions when things don't make sense, and leave with a system that fits your life.

What We Cover

  • Understanding where your money actually goes
  • Setting up a tracking system that doesn't feel like homework
  • Managing irregular income and expenses
  • Building an emergency fund without going broke
  • Dealing with debt in a way that doesn't overwhelm you
  • Planning for bigger purchases
  • Adjusting your budget when life changes

How This Actually Helps

Look, most budgeting advice feels like it's written for people who already have their act together. We start from wherever you're at right now. Maybe you've never tracked a dollar in your life. Maybe you tried before and it lasted about three days. That's fine.

The sessions run for twelve weeks, but you're not locked into some rigid curriculum. We spend the first couple of weeks just figuring out your current situation. And I mean really looking at it—not the version you wish was true.

After that, we build your system. Some people like apps. Others prefer a simple notebook. A few still use cash envelopes, which honestly works better than you'd think. The point is finding what you'll actually stick with.

Between sessions, you test things out. Then we troubleshoot together. Someone always hits a snag—forgot to track something, had an unexpected expense, got confused about categorizing stuff. That's when the group format really helps, because chances are someone else figured out that exact problem last week.

Session Format

Two-hour evening sessions, once weekly. Mix of instruction, group discussion, and hands-on work. Limited to 15 participants so everyone gets attention when they need it.

Who This Works For

Anyone who wants better control over their money. We've had recent grads, families, people changing careers, and folks nearing retirement. Different situations, same basic challenge.
